With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Dale E. Kruschke on November 27, 2025. Born on February 25, 1949, in Buffalo, NY, Dale was a devoted husband, a loving friend, a revered community member, and a beacon of unwavering support for those fortunate enough to have known him.
Dale's life was a testament to commitment and the power of a strong will. He served with distinction in the United States Navy for 20 years, retiring as a Lieutenant Commander. His dedication to service didn't end with his military retirement in 1989; he continued to serve his community as a Constable for the Town of Newstead for 10 years. His awards and accolades, including the American Spirit Medal, Navy Good Conduct Medal, and a National Defense Service Medal, speak volumes of his outstanding dedication.
Dale was a devoted member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of South Newstead and a lifetime member of the Newstead Fire Company. He also served with the Clarence/Newstead Fire Police Association and volunteered as the Fire Police Safety Coordinator for the Ride for Roswell. Throughout the community, he gave generously of his time with the Akron/Newstead Food Pantry, the Akron/Newstead Senior Center, the Newstead Historical Society, and the Wood and Brook Sportsman’s Club. Dale also found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He nurtured a love for trees, growing Christmas trees for his local community and generously donating one every year to Akron's Russell Park. His hobbies included fishing, admiring classic cars, and showcasing his skills in woodworking.
Beloved husband of Lois (Bluman) Kruschke for 55 years; loving father of Curtis (Deanna) Kruschke, proud grandfather of Keira and Makenna Kruschke; dear brother of Kevin Kruschke; fond uncle of Tricia Thomas and Todd Bluman. Dale is preceded in death by his parents, Elwood and Lucille (Altrogge) Kruschke and sister, Candy Lynn Kruschke.
