Caroline Gertrude Johnson

Caroline G. Johnson passed away suddenly on December 22, 2019. She was born in Thompsontown, Pennsylvania on January 13, 1940 to the late Merle and Violet (Kitchen) Holes.

Caroline was one of sixteen children and a 1959 graduate of Purchase Line High School in Commadore, Pennsylvanna. She married LaVerne Johnson on June 24, 1967 and worked locally at Akron Central Schools and for Perry’s Ice cream and Pixley’s while raising their two daughters. She enjoyed canning and gardening in her spare time and would often be found working in her garden from morning until dusk. When she wasn’t working in her garden, she could be found clipping coupons. She was a member of the WNY Gas and Steam Engine Association for many years.

Beloved wife of LaVerne P. Johnson for 53 years; loving mother of Christine (Joseph) Malovich and Dianna Johnson; cherished grandmother of Justin (Jay) Hassell, Charles Hassell II, Chelsea Jackson, Jessalynn Malovich, and Caleb Reith; proud great -grandmother of Halie Hassell, Parker Jackson, Rhett Hassell, Emma Jackson.
