Brian R. Hallenbeck

Brian R. Hallenbeck, of Basom, New York, passed away on November 23, 2022 at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital.  He was born in Penn Yann, NY on July 19, 1951 to the late Ralph and Hazel (Hammond) Hallenbeck.

Brian spent his younger life around the Penn Yann area and moved to Basom in 2001. He worked locally for Whiting Rollup Door Company, until his retirement in 2013. He was a member of the Son’s of Union Veterans of the Civil War, the 148 New York Reenactment group where he took part in many war reenactments across New York State.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Barbara Jonathan-Hallenbeck; his two children, Peter Hallenbeck and Steven Hallenbeck. Brian is also survived by two brothers, Gene Hallenbeck and Britt (Dolly) Hallenbeck. He is predeceased by a sister, Ronda Hallenbeck.

Friends and relatives may call on Thursday, December 1, 2022 from 5 - 7 PM at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC., 10 Eckerson Avenue, Akron, NY 14001 where a Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 2, at 11 AM. Donations may be made in Brian’s memory to the Alabama Fire Department.
