It is with our deepest sense of loss and sorrow, that we announce the passing of our Dad, Bob C. Baker on January 8, 2024. He was born on July 8, 1931 at home in Clarence Center, NY, to the late Leslie and Arlene (Campbell) Baker.
He served our country in the U.S. Navy and then served the United States Government as Postmaster of Clarence Center Post Office until he retired in 1986. He was the most dedicated and conscientious Government Employee they could have asked for. He absolutely cherished his small community and took great lengths to make sure EVERYONE was able to get their mail! His strong work ethics and charming personality made him a beloved figure among his colleagues and the community. But the story of Bob's life does not end here. He was an avid target shooter, (An Incredible Skill Set) a die-hard hunter, and an enthusiastic fisherman. Bob had the pleasure of teaching his three oldest great-grandchildren the correct way to clean a fish and they still remember!
Bob was a loving and devoted family man who is survived by his daughters, Donna (late Frederick) Potts, Cheryl (Robert) Wanamaker, sister Lorna (late Robert) Blount, four grandchildren, Diana Potts (Mike Retzius), Christine (Jim) Sikorski, Laura (Rob) Smith, Samuel (Janine) Wanamaker, and six great-grandchildren, Reilly, Alexander, Fiona, Kyle, Evelyn, and Emery. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 56 years, Shirley Baker.
Friends and family may call from 10-11 AM on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC where a Memorial Service will follow at 11AM.
