Betty J. Skellon

Betty J. Skellon passed away peacefully on October 25, 2019 at the age of 91. She was born in Buffalo, NY on December 12, 1927 to the late Otto and Jennie (Black) Olsen.

Betty attended high school in Medina, NY. She married the late Youlouis (Charlie) Skellon after WWII and they were married until his death in 1962,  She later married Charles Kelsey who died in 1993. She retired as a press operator from Whiting Roll Up Door in 1991. Betty is survived by her children, Robert Skellon and Bonnie (Michael) Pierce; granddaughters, Stephanie and Brittany Pierce; stepchildren,Rhea (Ralph) Jones and Mary Schott and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother-in law, Frank (Ethal) Kelsey and many nieces and nephews. Betty is predeceased by her husbands, YouLouis (Charlie) Skellon and Charles Kelsey and her children, James and Roger Skellon and Chuckie, Jimmy, Lyle, and Skipper Kelsey.  A brother, Gene Olson predeceases her as well.

Friends and relatives may call from 3 PM to 7 PM on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC, 10 Eckerson Avenue, Akron, NY. A Graveside service will be held at 4 PM on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Evergreen Lawn Cemetery, Akron, NY. The family requests donations in Betty’s name to the Akron Fire Company.
