Betsi Yates, born on May 9, 1957, in Kenmore, NY, was a radiant soul whose zest for life touched everyone around her. Despite leaving us on December 21, 2023, her vibrant spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Betsi spent her career in the food service industry, offering warm smiles and comforting words to all who had the pleasure of being served by her at Kenmore Lanes in Kenmore, New York, from where she retired. However, her creativity transcended her occupation. An ardent lover of fashion, Betsi could turn any piece of clothing into a style statement as evinced by the bright colors she loved to wear and her hair style. Her creativity found an outlet in her crafts, where she intricately wove her love and warmth into each masterpiece she created. Betsi was active in her community volunteering for much of her adult life with children and later with adult WWII veterans. In 2005 she became the Adult Ambassador for ADA of WNY.
Betsi is survived by her loving sisters Nancy Presant, Salli Domres, and Peggy Ann Stanley, along with her brother-in-law David Stanley, and several nieces and nephews, all of whom she shared an unbreakable bond with. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Stewart and Roberta Yates, and her dear sister Bonnie Yates.
Betsi's services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
