Barbara A. Bono, 93, of Akron, NY, passed away on May 15, 2024. Born on July 5, 1930, in Glendale, California, descending from Capt. James Morgan, Sr., a 1630s settler of the Massachusetts Bay Colony, Barbara - affectionately known to her friends and family as Barb - spent her life serving others in her profession, her community, and through her love of politics.
Barbara's life was marked by her dedication to the field of healthcare. She was a nurse for 30 years, providing comfort and care to those most in need. Her passion for helping others also extended into her personal life. As a youth, she participated in Job’s Daughters International. She volunteered regularly at the Akron Newstead Senior Center. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, a group of women who celebrated life and friendship. Barbara was an avid bridge player, and she held a deep love for politics.
Barbara is survived by her children James Charles Bono, Kathleen Jane Evans and Jeffery A. Bono-Queeno; Five grandchildren: Marcella, Teddy, Terrence (TJ), Chad and Amanda. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Eugene Bono and by two brothers, Gary Clinite and Curt Clinite.
