Aletha Moses, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2020. She was born in Basom, NY on May 19, 1945 to the late Ellsworth and Mildred (Ground) George.
Aletha was a proud member of the Beaver Clan. She was a 1964 graduate of Akron Central School. Upon graduation, she was selected to be a part of a national program, which sent her to the Philadelphia Nursing School where she became an OR Nurse and then went on to work at Lockport Memorial Hospital for over 40 years. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the former Myron Ground Legion Post and was a member of a quilting guild. She was a big Sabres fan.
She is survived by her beloved children, Kimberly George and Allison Smith; a brother, Jerome George; and two sisters, Marlene Thomas and Fidelia George. Aletha is also survived by 2 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Her husband, Leon (Bruce) Moses and a brother, Irving (Sunnyboy) Sundown Jr. predeceased her.
Family will be present at 469 Shanks Road until the time of a Service at 1PM on Sunday, November 22, 2020, with a Long House Service at 2PM. Burial to follow at the Tonawanda Indian Presbyterian Cemetery.
