Shawn Whelan

Shawn Whelan of Akron passed, suddenly, May 14, 2018. He was born in Buffalo, on January 31,1989 to John and Donna (Snyder) Whelan.                                                                       

Shawn was a graduate of the Akron High School Class of 2007. He went on to college and earned an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice. Most recently, Shawn was the Associate Scan Coordinator at Top’s Market in Lockport. In his spare time, Shawn watched Twitch and enjoyed all types of online and computer games. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and St Louis Cardinals fan.

Besides his parents, a sister, Rebecca (Sam) Nigro and a brother, Bryan (Courtney) Whelan survive Shawn. A niece, Indiana Nigro and a nephew, Casey Whelan and many cousins also survive Shawn.

Friends and relatives may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC, 10 Eckerson Avenue, Akron. A Funeral Service will take place at East Shelby Community Bible Church, 5278 East Shelby Road, Medina, NY 14103 on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at 4:00 p.m.
