Naomi R. Schoenthal

Naomi  R. Schoenthal (nee Tesnow), of Akron, entered into rest on November 10, 2017. She was born in Pembroke, NY on April 22, 1932 to the late Charles and Ola (Sparling) Tesnow.

Naomi was a graduate of Akron High School. She married Richard Schoenthal on June 9, 1951 and they had three children together. Naomi was a secretary for various companies in Akron throughout her working career; Akron Central Schools and First United Methodist Church; retiring from Strippit. She was a member of the Akron Historical Society and The Newstead Senior Center. Naomi spent most of her spare time sewing, gardening, and reading, She loved the outdoors and traveling; especially her trips to Florida every February.

Beloved wife of 66 years to Richard J. Schoenthal. Dear mother of Susan (Douglas) Allen, Robert (Elaine) Schoenthal, Carol (James) Marshall; grandmother of Kimberly, Robert, Colleen and great-grandmother of seven. Also survived by a sister Pauline Uglesich; sister-in-law Louise Tesnow and many nieces and nephews. Her brothers, George Tesnow and Howard Tesnow predeceased Naomi.

Friends may call on Tuesday, November 14, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Ross Funeral Home of Akron LLC. 10 Eckerson Ave. Akron where a funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
