Joseph Dakin Obituary

Joseph L. Dakin, of Akron passed away on June 19, 2018; just one month shy of his 88th birthday. He was born July 23, 1930 in Rumford, Maine to the late Sherwin and Doris (Dugas) Dakin.

Joseph served our country in the U.S. Air Force from 1949 – 1952. He married his beloved wife, the late Jeannine (Parenteau) Dakin in 1955 and they raised three sons together. He worked as a Plant Manager for Harper International in Lancaster, NY until his retirement. Joe was a member of the Buffalo Shooting Club and the NRA. He had a passion for airplanes and enjoyed flying, and playing golf in his spare time.

Beloved father of Randy (Dorothy) Dakin, Bruce (Nallann) Dakin, and David Dakin; cherished grandfather of Taylor, Jeremy (Kathy), Jason (Charlotte), Coty, Nathan, Jessie, and Devin; proud great grandfather of Dylan, Dakota, Logan, Landon, Jordan, and Kaden. Joseph was predeceased his loving wife, Jeannine Dakin in 2016.

Friends and relatives may call on Saturday, June 23, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held on Monday, June 21, 2018 in Bath National Cemetery, Bath, New York.
