Edward Frank Barczsz

August 8, 1923 ~ December 12, 2017 (age 94) 94 Years Old

Edward Frank Barszcz 94, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2017. He was born on August 8, 1923 in Depew, NY  to the late Lucas and Stella (Adrynek) Barszcz.

Ed served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1943 to 1945. After leaving the Army, he married his wife of 66 years, Regina Kamien in 1947.  He worked as a machine operator for Quaker Oats and was a member of The Holy Name Society at St. Peter and Paul Church in Depew where he served as an usher for many years. He was actively involved with Bingo there and was Man of the Year. In his younger years, he was a very good baseball player and pitched in a Legion League.  He especially enjoyed fishing. Those who remember him will remember him as a very devout family man.

Beloved father of  Mark (Laurie) Barszcz; cherished grandfather of April Kleinfelter, Lucas, Taylor, and Trent Barszcz; great-grandfather of 2; dear brother of Freddie (Norma) Barszcz. Besides his wife,  a son, Thomas Barszcz and two brothers, John and Joseph Barszcz  predeceased him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Pompeii Church, 158 Laverack Avenue, Lancaster, NY. Memorials may be made in Ed's memory to Brothers of Mercy.
