Connie Marie Caprio

Constance "Connie" Marie Caprio 77 passed away suddenly at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital on August 26, 2017. She was born on January 15, 1940 in Buffalo, NY to the late Joseph and Rena (Bistoff) Laubacher.

Connie attended grade school at the Country School on South Newstead and Buckwheat Rd. and was a member of Akron High School Class of 1957. She married the love of her life, Joseph Caprio in 1955 and they raised six children together. Connie worked for the U.S. Postal Service until her retirement in 2000 and was a member of St. Teresa's Women's Guild for many years. She coached all of her daughters in Little League Cheerleading and was a huge Yankees fan. Connie was an excellent cook and loved cooking and baking for her large family. She once won a cherry pie baking contest at the NY State Fair. Those who knew Connie will remember her for her kind, gentle spirit.

Besides her husband of  63 years, she  is survived by her children; Joe Caprio, Dan (Lori) Caprio, Mike (Alana) Caprio, Mary Jo (Anthony) Schumacher, Cherie Sugg, Theresa (Thomas) Baker; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; three brothers, Kenneth (Sue) Laubacher, Bruce (Marilyn) Laubacher, Dale (Wes) Laubacher and sister-in-law Donna Laubacher. Connie's brothers, Carl and Joel Laubacher predeceased her.

Friends and relatives may call from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC., 10 Eckerson Ave., Akron, NY 14001. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 1, 2017 at St. Teresa's R.C. Church at 10:00 a.m. Please assemble at church.
