Sharon Rickard passed away suddenly at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital on December 12, 2016. Sharon was born in Buffalo on September 12,1945 to the late Alfred and Lillas (Hillburger) DeGeorge.

Sharon is predeceased by her husband of 26 years, Frederick (Louie) Rickard. She worked as the Human Resource Manager for Bell’s in Clarence. She was a member of the American Legion Post #900 Ladies Auxiliary, where she held the position of Treasurer for over 25 years. She was also a proud member of the VFW Post #3180. She loved traveling, crocheting, and reading. She focused her life on family, especially her grandchildren.

Her daughters, Kim (Chauncey III) Vanice and Cindy Battistoni both of Akron; four grandchildren, Chad Van Buren, Tyler Vanice, Chalsey Van Buren, and Hunter Vanice survive Sharon.  A brother, Richard DeGeorge of Florida and many nieces and nephews also survive her. A brother, Robert DeGeorge predeceases her.

Friends and relatives may call from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 17, at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC,10 Eckerson Avenue with a Funeral Service immediately following Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
