Welcome to the memorial page for

Mar Thomas "Tom" McCorquodale

July 22, 1941 ~ June 28, 2017 (age 75) 75 Years Old

Mar Thomas "Tom" McCorquodale went to be with his Lord and Savior early Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at the Buffalo VA Hospital at the age of 75. He was predeceased by his parents, Mar C. And Mildred E. (nee Mietz) and a younger brother, John "Jack" McCorquodale. He is survived by his older brother, William "Bill" (Brenda) McCorquodale; four cousins; two nieces and one nephew.

Tom was born in Stoneham, Mass on July 22, 1941. The family moved to North Tonawanda, later settling in Wolcottsville, where Tom graduated from Akron Central School in 1959. Shortly after graduating high school he joined the Air Force as a Russian interpreter. After leaving the Air Force, Tom attended the Buffalo State Teachers' College earning a Master's Degree. He went on to purchase and run the Wolcottsville Inn for many years, reknown for his duck and sauerkraut dinners. Later, he was instrumental in developing a fuel additive company,  known as Kenetic Laboratories. Tom was an active member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Wolcottsville, and a valuable asset to the Bible Class. Even while living in the nursing home, he was known for attending as many church services as possible. He was also an active member of the Wolcottsville Volunteer Fire Co.

Those who knew Tom, knew how much he enjoyed his pets and photography; taking countless photos while abroad where he easily struck up conversations and made friends. In 2015, poor health forced him to retire to the Harris Hill Nursing Facility where he resided for the past two years.

There will be no prior visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, 6379 Wolcottsville Rd. on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to St. Michael's Church.
