Lawrence Stock

Lawrence Stock 82, of Akron passed away suddenly surrounded by family on November 28, 2016. He was born January 29, 1934 in Ebensburg, Pennsylvania to the late Harry and Edna Mae (Hoover) Stock.

Larry earned his Bachelor’s Degree from St. Francis University in PA and then went on to serve our nation in the United States Army. He worked for over 30 years as a history teacher in the Akron Central School District, where he also led the Eighth Grade Yorker's Club and was a former officer in the ACS Teachers' Credit Union. He was a main speaker for the Newstead Historical Society as well as the leading area genealogist. Larry loved riding motorcycles and would often be seen riding during the winter months. He especially enjoyed classic cars, bird watching, and reading.  

Beloved husband of Donna (Yeckley) Stock for over 56 years; devoted father of Karen Stock and Donald Stock both of Akron; cherished grandfather of Janet (Brian) Hagerman and Jacquelyn (Kyle) Doherty. A son, David Stock predeceases Larry.

A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC, 10 Eckerson Avenue, Akron. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Teresa’s Roman Catholic Church on Monday December 5, at 10 am.
