John A. Ciammetti

 John A. Ciammetti, 92 of Akron passed away peacefully on March 12, 2017. He was born in San Marco di Preturo, Abruzzo, L'Aquila Italy on December 14, 1924 to the late Sabatino and Rosina (Ciammetti) Ciammetti.

John served in the Italian Army during WWII. He married Iole Rita Perilli on July 10,1955 in Pizzoli, Abruzzo, Italy. John and Iole came to America in 1955 and created a life together in Akron, NY where they raised three daughters. John was owner of Ciammetti's Barber Shop in Akron for over 40 years. He loved his garden, mowing the lawn, and making wine!. 

Beloved husband of Iole (Perilli) Ciammetti for 61 years; devoted father of Anna (Craig) Kraatz of Akron, Vera Ciammetti of California, Nancy (Brad) Short of Jamesville, NY; cherished grandfather of Anthony, Nicholas, and Joseph Kraatz, and Colin Short; proud great grandfather of Giana, Scott, Linkin, and Violet. John's brother Flavio passed away at the age of 4 in Italy.

Friends may visit the Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC, 10 Eckerson Ave., Akron on Friday March 17, 2017 from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Teresa of Avila R.C. Church, 5771 Buell Street, Akron. Please Assemble at Church.
