Irene Clara Covel

Irene Clara Covel entered into rest August 14, 2017. Irene was born in Akron, New York  on October 8. 1925 to the late Floyd and Florence Corbett.  She graduated from Akron High School in 1943.

Irene loved to garden; her rose bushes were the envy of many neighbors! She also loved to cook and bake. Irene worked for 25 years as the office manager at the Williamsville Dental Group, and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She will be remembered for her kind heart, strong faith, and love shown to her husband, family, and friends.

Beloved wife of the late Chester B. Covel; dear mother of James (Sharon) Berry, Susan (James) Frey (nee Berry), Ann (Joseph) Viterna, David (Christine), James (Cindy), Craig (Elizabeth), and the late Ronald Berry; loving grandmother of Jennifer (David) Sullivan (nee Berry), Michelle (Michael) Young (nee Berry), Nicole (Brian) Cornuta (nee Berry), Crystal Castellan; Alyssa (Ross-Philip) Orlando (nee Frey); JoAnn (Andrew) Bertolino (nee Viterna), Zachary (Myra) Viterna, Olivia Viterna, Joshua, Benjamin, Jordan, Kyle, Jessica, Rae, Daniel; devoted great-grandmother to Emily Sullivan, Cade Sullivan, Millard Young, Megan Young, Jaden Cornuta, Adalyn Cornuta, Trent Viterna, Xavier Viterna, and Avery Bertolino; dear sister to Jeanette and Lorraine, and predeceased by Evelyn, William, Laverne, James, and Dorothy.

The family will be present to receive family and friends on Friday, August 18 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Ross Funeral Home at 10 Eckerson Ave., Akron, New York and at a memorial service on Saturday, August 19 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church at 122 Main St., Akron. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the First Baptist Church, Akron, NY.
