Donald Paul Buckley

July 28, 1935 ~ February 14, 2017 (age 81) 81 Years Old

Donald Paul Buckley of Akron, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2017. He was born on July 28, 1935 in Buffalo to the late Paul and Caroline (DeRue) Buckley.
 
Donald served our nation in the United States Navy and then went on to work as an engineer for the New York Central Railroad. He retired from Conrail after 38 Years. He married Nancy Choops on June 17, 1961. Donald was the Treasurer of the Railroad Retirement Club. He volunteered for over 15 years for Meals On Wheels and ushered at St. Teresa’s Church. He enjoyed fishing at Black Lake and spending time with family and friends.
 
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nancy Buckley. Donald’s four sons, Mark (Eileen) Buckley, Glenn Buckley, Thomas (Tina) Buckley, and Scott (Patricia) Buckley; his grandchildren, Ryan, Emily, Andrew and Kate; brother-in-law, Neal (Jeanene) Choops, and his dog, Gracie also survive him. Brothers and sisters, Peter (Janet) Buckley, Robert (Ruth) Buckley, Grace (Charles) Klaus, and Jean (Nick) Poules predecease him.
 
 A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Teresa’s Roman Catholic Church on Monday, February 20, 2017 at 10 am. (Please assemble at church).
