Derek Blackchief

Derek Blackchief, of Basom, July 4, 2017. He was born in Batavia on May 2, 1969 to Lance and Annajean (Printup) Blackchief.

A member of the Tonawanda Indian Reservation and the Turtle Clan, Derek was a 1987 graduate of Akron High School. He worked for General Motors at the Tonawanda Plant and was a proud U.A.W. member. 

Besides his parents, Derek is survived by his wife Becky (LaFromboise) Blackchief; a daughter BreeAnn Blackchief; two sons Ian and Asa Blackchief, all of Basom. Derek is also survived by two grandchildren, Hillton and Aisley and Sister Allison (Lester) Przybyl of Fla.

Friends may call at 510 Bloomingdale Road on the Tonawanda Indian Reservation where the funeral service will start at 5p.m. on Friday, July 7. 2017 and conclude at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning, July 8, 2017.
