David Adrian Bogey

February 11, 1940 ~ December 28, 2017 (age 77) 77 Years Old

David Adrian Bogey, went home to be with his precious Savior on December 28, 2017, surrounded by family. He was born February 11, 1940, in Jamestown, New York, to the late Walter Adrian and Frances (Van Tassel) Bogey.

A graduate of Kensington High School in Buffalo, he went on to Roberts Wesleyan College in North Chili, NY and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1961. David continued his education and received two Masters Degrees in Russian History from the University at Buffalo. He taught in Springville and Kenmore prior to his career at Clarence High School where he taught advanced placement studies in European History, Psychology, and Canadian Studies. David taught night school at Niagara Community College for several years.  He was a NYSUT member and local President of The Clarence Teachers' Association for 8 years. David was a long time member of the Akron Free Methodist Church and was currently a member of Lancaster Evangelical Presbyterian Church. He was a church leader for most of his life serving as organist, choir director, Adult Sunday School teacher, youth director, member of the church choir and bell choir. David was an avid reader, passionate about collecting antiques and gardening. He took pride in his roses. He loved to travel all over the world. 

David was the Beloved husband of Nancy Lynette (Lundberg) Bogey for 38 years and the Cherished father of Lynette Adrianne (J. Clay) Rushing and Andrew David (Cassandra Scott) Bogey; loving grandfather of Isaiah and Abigail Rushing, Jackson Waldon-Bogey and Mollie Bogey. He is survived by a sister, Carole Bryant and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service  will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Lancaster Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 5461 Broadway Street, Lancaster, NY. Arrangements by Ross Funeral Home of Akron LLC. Memorial Contributions may be made in David's memory to: Roberts Wesleyan College, 2301 Westside Drive, Rochester, New York 14624-1997.
