Cora Heukrath

Cora Heukrath, of Akron passed away on August 25, 2017. She was born March 1, 1927 in Ohswegen Ontario (Six Nations) to the Late Cameron and Rosamond (Martin) Davis.
 
Cora’s family moved to Buffalo when she was young. She graduated from Grover Cleveland High School and went on to attend Buffalo General Nursing School. She then married the late Donald Heukrath and started a family. After the loss of Donald, Cora went back to work as a security guard at the Erie County Home. She loved to garden and spend time outdoors. She  would always find time to relax by either knitting or crocheting and sitting on her back porch in the warm morning sun drinking her tea.
 
Her children Daniel (Roberta) Heukrath of Buffalo and Susan (Chester) Emel of Akron survive Cora; four grandchildren Angela (James) Culverwell, Peter (Amy) Barnes, Donald (Carol) Barnes and Chet (Nicole) Emel; four great- grandchildren and one great--great grandchild also survive her. A son, Robert Heukrath predeceases her.
